Bonus language in offer letter
I'll preface this by saying that I'm just an intern, I know nothing, and I searched the question in the site so sorry if it's been answered or it's a dumb question:
Because bonuses are obviously such a large portion of comp in IB, PE, etc, is bonus language included in offer letters? For example, do you get an offer letter saying base is 85k and bonus is 50-100%? Interested especially at the junior level, and sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks!
EDIT: Referring to year end bonuses, not signing
mine is 85000 along with 10k for sign-on bonus
My bank phrased the bonus language as "traditionally, bank pays discretionary, performance-based bonuses to Analysts on or before [Bonus Date] based on individual performance and that of bank as a whole in conjunction with an annual review process."
No specific mention of percentages on the annual bonus. Did specify 85K base and 10k signing. Curious to hear what others say.
