Boutique IB or Search Fund for Spring?

I am a sophomore hoping to get into investment banking and am currently reviewing two offers for this spring, one for a search fund that starts in March and the other for a boutique IB that starts in April. Obviously, the IB gig will be the better experience but it starts later which won't give me enough time to have some experience before SA 2022 recruiting. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Actually having experience prior to recruit doesn't matter whatsoever, it's highly unlikely you're going to be doing anything noteworthy as a sophomore intern to 1) help with interviews or b) flex on your resume. Anything you do in your sophomore year is purely for vetting purposes. For that reason do what looks better - whether it starts in time or not can be modified with an "Incoming Spring Analyst at Prospect Partners" with one generalized line on your resume

I am talking about the short term you are more likely to be better prepared for an interview for a job you have already done than something quite different. If you are talking about which may make your resume get pulled out of the pile I would probably say the search fund because it seems like you have no experience at all yet and work experience is vital.

Yeah sorry for not making it clear I did have a good freshman experience but wanted another one under the belt to really ramp up my resume and have some more talking points

This is a pretty stupid question imo. Go with the boutique, at the very least you will learn the deal process and how bankers think about things.
