Brass Ring or No?

I'm looking for both advice and information from anyone who can help out. I've got a generous offer from an investment management firm (relatively young, but good fit), but I really have a desire to work in i-banking in Asia, especially China. I've applied to the BB's in China, and I've got the right stats (target, Mandarin speaker, time on the ground), but haven't heard anything back yet. The offer from the investment management firm is exploding relatively soon--so, do I hold out hoping I can swing something in Asia, or go down the safe road and work two years before heading abroad?
