Breaking into IB

Hey guys. Quick question. What advice do y’all have for moving from Fund Accounting into IB? Looking specifically at M&A or Equities Trading.

Background: I’m 27 and I’m currently the main fund accountant for a GP in Commercial Real Estate. I handle pretty much everything except deal sourcing. I do look over all the deals and check the models and convey them to my boss, the principal. I have experience in modeling and a decent amount of accounting experience now. I know it won’t be easy, and I realize there are other paths available to me, but what advice would anyone have for me in this situation?

Considering beefing up my modeling skills with a NYIF course, or potentially getting an MBA if I need to. Thanks guys.
