Breaking into Private Placement side of small BD

Hi all, I'm fortunate to have networked my way into a small BD and I'd like to break into the private placement side of the business. We offer primary issuance advisory and fund raising for reg a, reg d, reg s, etc. I'm currently on operations, but am getting my BD licenses at the moment (7, 63, 79).

What should I focus on afterwards to help break into and do well on the private placement side? (I've been specifically told I can do so, just need to prove myself a bit).

Also, i've been reading that the CFA is not going to be valuable for this type of role.
