Brexit and Visa for IBD SA in London

So as all the Europeans in this forum will know, Brexit goes into effect next year which means all non-brits will have to obtain a visa (unless you're at a UK uni) to work in London.

I was wondering for all you non-Brits studying outside of the UK who were lucky enough to secure an IBD internship for next Summer (2021) in London, what are our visa options? I'm also in this position, and I've been looking at different visa options, but none of them seems fit for an internship. Is the skilled worker visa (formerly Tier 2 General) the way to go?

I'm sure the company will take care of it, but I have anxiety problems and I just wanted to know that I'm not the only one stuck in this position. Anyone else?

lol don't worry about it - the UK will be a slut to retain bankers, asset managers and law firms in the city otherwise there would be major economic impacts on some parts of London, and all of these guys are in the top brackets when it comes to paying taxes and are employed so cannot really avoid taxes the way british "entrepreneurs"/owners do by living in Jersey or Monaco.

I am in the same case an I am not worried and was just wondering what type of visa do people usually get for an internships. since I am UK based I was planning to apply for the post study visa which will cost around 2K and was wondering if tbanks would sponsor this visa type and if they refuse if it is better to apply for this one myself instead of letting them get me a short term

Non EU and non UK student in continental Europe --> got interviews & offers in London, on average the same number like my EU peers.

However, every time when I fill the application and the situation regarding my citizenship/visa status is checked in detail, I have some concerns it will negatively impact my application (speaking mainly for intern/entry roles where the differentiation among candidates is not so easy taking into consideration many students with target unis, good grades, experience etc.)

Don't worry mate. The banks will take care of it.

If you look up the visa on the government website, you'll see immediately that there is no way you're NOT fulfilling the requirements.

Honestly, the fact that you're paying a ton of taxes and are net-positive to all sorts of social security/healthcare stuff is such an attractive reason not to kick you out of the UK haha

If you have anxiety issues, better get that checked by a good professional. No shame at all in that!

Does anyone have experience with the EU Settlement Scheme for European Nationals? I am currently trying to sort out my immigration status in the UK post Brexit for my upcoming start at a BB in early 2021.

If so, do you happen to know how to qualify for the eligibility criteria to "have lived in the UK prior to 31 December"? Apparently, you don't need an existing apartment just travel records that you have entered the country in the last 6 months.

Can anyone confirm this?

Same situation and I looked at this as well and to be honest I'm not sure... on the free movement website (I can't post links on this forum, can be easily found on Google) they mention that it needs to be "genuine residence".

It would not be ideal having problems down the line - especially since getting a visa won't be a problem

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/eu-settlement-scheme-evidence-of-uk-residen…; According to this, "passport stamp confirming entry at the UK border" &/or "used travel ticket confirming you entered the UK from another country" suffice for one month to be counted. As such, entering the UK this month should be enough to qualify for December. However, not sure, whether you would have to stay in the country until end of year.
