Business Services IBD / M&A: details?

My investment bank recently announced that they're starting a new M&A desk for the Business Services sector as they've hired a new MD for it and asked if anyone would be interesting in joining or supporting the MD.

I've actually wanted to change teams for a while so considering responding but I have no clue about Business Services and there is literally no information online or on WSO about it. I did a search for Business Services or Professional Services on WSO and nothing came up. It seems like a sector with very little public information.

Does anyone work in the sector or know anything about it? I'm interested in knowing things like:

1) type of companies they advise?

2) is it mainly public to public, public to private, or private to private? or a bit of everything?

3) is it mainly corporate M&A or mainly LBO / private equity activity in the sector?

4) deal flow, how active and hot is the space?

5) how is the financial modelling? is it very standard operating models, DCFs and LBOs or is the modelling unique to the sector?

6) who are the top investment banks in the sector / M&A league table

7) exit ops?

8) any other general information about the sector

Thank you

I had peripheral involvement when I was in corporate banking, it’s a wide variety of companies think consulting, business process outsourcing (look up Genpact to get a better idea), recruiting (like Robert Half), some may include engineering firms like AECOM. It’s regular modeling, mix of corporate and PE M&A activity. I thought it was interesting.
