Call with MD but no hirevue?

I have a call with an MD from BAML (networking call?) but I haven't even received a HireVue from BAML yet. The MD is eager to connect with me after I spoke to an analyst (networking) who really liked me. What does this mean? Will the MD be able to push me through the HireVue stage? Or should I prepare for the call as if it's an interview....confused

Recruiting doesn't always follow the HireVue process. you might never get it, or get it and no one sees it because the MD has already flagged you for a superday. MD liking you and pushing you on his own is a good sign

Can't speak for every firm but at mine the Hirevue is just a screening tool, and some of the OCR schools don't have a Hirevue round. If you have an MD aggressively pushing you to a superday that often takes priority.

Of course if OP gets a Hirevue they should approach it seriously, but having someone influential want you on the team can push you pretty far

Hey, had the call.....it was just networking I guess (went well though!). He said he'll connect me w people and if I talk to a bunch then he can ask HR to pull me through...I guess that's good, right?

I will say it is pretty late in the BofA process to be getting traction. My school team (target) already completely filled up all its spots. Think there have already been 3-4 waves of HireVues released going back to July 10th, and the first round of superdays was last week. Don't give up hope though. Keep going until you're told no.
