Can I break into IB with a social science/humanities degree at a top uni in the UK?
Hi, I've got a offer from UCL to study Archaeology but it's clearly unrelated to finance. But knowing that UCL is a target uni for IB I'm not sure if I should take the risk. The only finance/maths/econ related courses I've got on offer are from low target if not a non-target uni like QMUL and Bayes. I'm not sure which route to take for my best shot at IB. Would appreciate your input. Thank you
No tf. UCL accepts like 23k kids a year why tf would anyone interview someone studying archaeology LOL. You might as well have gotten a finance degree from some non-target school
Ridiculous take. You have the advantage of coming from a target school and a non-traditional background. Yes, it may be too untraditional to say politics/law but it can still be done if you prep adequately and join the right societies .. and given you’re not an idiot
UCL is not a target in the traditional sense. You need to take the relevant courses. Even at Oxbridge archaeology is a tough sell.
so qmul or bayes? tbf would I have more flexibility at qmul for a maths degree? say I wanted to leave IB for FAANG
I suggest you get started with the GMAT prep and try to get into a real masters program
is it not possible with a UG at UCL archaeology? I do see a few people with archaeology degrees at GS here and there...
Ran a LinkedIn search based on your criteria and only found one person doing compliance at GS
so qmul or bayes would be better?
