Can you be into health & wellness while doing IB?

Like working out/pilates/eating plant-based or just healthy/sleeping(well as much as you can lol)/yoga/meditation/skincare/journalling/reading/spirituality stuff

The constant grind + my health & wellness interests seem like an interesting combination, so I was wondering how much I'd have to "sacrifice" with full-time

All of that can be done with the exception of a healthy sleep pattern. There are tons of healthy eating options on Seamless. Working out / meditation / yoga can be done early in the morning, late at night, or during the 6-8PM "lull" period where Analysts are sitting around waiting for comments while the Directors and MDs are spending their nightly one hour with their families.

Not much you can do about the erratic sleep patterns, though. That's the killer. And the constant stress, for most people, is going to make you want to eat garbage and drink heavily. You'll need the self control to resist that urge. And when you're on a tear of sleeping 3 hours a night for a week straight, you'll find your motivation for anything beyond getting more sleep is going to be near zero.

It’s hard. I am myself really into meditation, yoga, good food, etc. but when you’re in a fire drill and work 18-20h days, you don’t exactly take 45mn to cook healthy food and do yoga.

that being said, I do take 10-20mn to meditate most nights, stretch and do some quick core training while in Zoom meetings, and do longer yoga sesh on weekends. Usually try and go for 2x 10-15mn walks everyday as well.

Basically you don’t have the time but still take it, this is very motivation dependent. Just know that sometimes it will be too much and you’ll just be at your desk all day with no break at all. Realistically, plan to be working 24/7, with lifestyle components being an “extra” (not saying you’ll be working 24/7 but this is the spirit unfortunately)
