Can you write a blog talking about companies in your coverage area?

I'm interested in starting a blog where I write long-form essays on different topics in business (similar to Stratechery or Kwokchain) specifically in my area of coverage (TMT) and am trying to figure out what regulations exist surrounding that sort of thing via FINRA / from bank compliance itself.

Assuming you're not writing about anything where you have MNPI or that you're actively covering as part of your day-to-day duties, are there any rules against this? I imagine your bank might not want you to do this because if you speak critically about a company it could damage a relationship, but assuming you used a pseudonym would that even be an issue? As of right now it's not something I'd be trying to monetize - more of a thought exercise for myself / something that will force me to think more holisitically about businesses.

Any thoughts / experience with this?
