Canaccord Genuity?

Currently a student at a target in Canada looking to work in media/tech IB. Does anyone have any insight on Canaccord Genuity in the US and Canada in terms of comp and reputation? I'm looking to move to NYC after graduation and I know they acquired Petsky Prunier in NYC a few years back, so any insight on PP would also be much appreciated.

Thanks.

One of the top firms in Canada alongside BMO and RBC

lol, not sure who gave you a SB, but I'm going to assume they fell asleep on their keyboard and did so accidentally.  So in your mind, the top banks in Canada are RBC, BMO, and CG?  I think you've got 1/3 there.  Unless you're referring specifically to Metal and Mining, or you define a top bank as one where most people hate working at, I don't think BMO fits in before TD for instance.  Canaccord is a great bank and pays as much as the big 5 but definitely plays in more the mid market space.  It's still good though and given the choice between Canaccord and BMO/CIBC/Scotia, I'd probably have to think about it.

I did my SA there. Awesome firm absolutely crushing it. Co-managers on literally every tech IPO it seems these days. Lots of MM tech M&A deals. NYC people are great to work with, as well as Boston. Exits to PE but I do not know much about where.

One of my close friends spent two years at CG before lateralling to a BB. Canaccord Genuity is a respected firm with a quickly growing IB practice within tech and media M&A. From what he's told me, the pay is street.

Canaccord is well known in Canada, not sure about the US, but I assume Canaccord is trying to grow its presence in the US as shown by the Petsky Prunier acquisition in NYC. The firm has a solid reputation in MM tech and media M&A.
