Canadian Students: US Summer 2020 Internships, Visas

Curious to know which American (specifically NY) investment banks still offer visas to Canadian citizens. I know some boutiques still do but BB's are much more reluctant. What's the word?

Fellow Canadian 2020 summer here. Most firms I've contacted treat us like regular internationals (who'd need h1b sponsorship) but most are willing to offer a case-by-case review, so I'd say if we pay for our own attorney cost we should be fine.

Not sure what your personal experience is here, but it has much less to do with attorney costs (those are immaterial) and more so with the current political environment and risk of obtaining a visa. Furthermore, the change in TN visa language for "Economists" makes it significantly more difficult to obtain a TN visa under this occupation for IBD. Thus you are left with the TN Visa Occupation Management Consultant that historically and even more so currently, has always faced tougher scrutiny. Not impossible under either occupation, but definitely is causing prospective employers to pause. Overall, it's just a tough visa environment right now with a lot of uncertainty.
