I have just received a call from the head of campus recruiting informing that my internship program (along with that of the firm) has just been canceled. He said details will follow but he mentioned there will be another process for FT recruiting.

Has anyone else gotten the news?

what office are you supposed to be in/what position was it for?

I really hate how inaccurate this forum can be with college kids posting like they know whats going on. I dont have any insight to offer on interns here but I have a few buddies who work there, they canned two directors and two analysts. the analysts were awful and were on the chopping block anyways. Directors are the first to go when things slow down. none of that is considered 'large layoffs' and they actually happened weeks ago. the layoffs you read about in your underwear at home last week were all back office guys, which journalists being blue collar morons still call "investment bankers" because they work at banks

right? literally no other banks have cancelled except them. do they not realize how this is going to hurt them in recruiting efforts going forward? at least for me, I would not want to work at cantor ever unless it was 100% my only option...........
