Career changes from credit analyst

I’ve come up on my first year of being a credit analyst, and am looking to make a change to a coverage role/lev fin role. How common is it for credit analysts to move to IB? What sort of things should I work on to make myself more marketable? Any insight here would be great!

I guess I’m a little confused as to how lev fin teams are structured (my bank doesn’t have a formal lev fin team). Is it setup the same as a corporate banking industry group - coverage and credit bankers?

Hey, I don't have the experience but I just got my Lev Fin offer. I had the same thought process because I was debating between credit and Lev Fin, but when I asked specifically within my firm the same response is given. Not super difficult since credit is more structured and the "back-bone" and Lev Fin is where you are doing more of the everyday IB tasks you can think of. That being said, when networking I was told that Lev Fin is much more rigorous and requires good modeling skills. So if you are re-recruiting for full-time then the interviews will be a little harder. Hope this helped!
