Career Floor

Been mulling this over - does IB / other competitive careers out of undergrad give you a floor for your career in terms of “success” and monetary gain? I have a friend that swears his absolute worst case scenario is middle class. Thoughts?

 

No, there's always a way to screw up if you aren't wise with your money, hang around the wrong people, or just have bad luck.

People seem to forget that it doesn't matter how much money you make if you blow it all and borrow to live an unsustainable lifestyle. Then when your golden goose turns out to not be as long-lived as you'd hoped, you're left without much

This might sound absurd, but you'll find that many if not most people have unhealthy spending habits, including finance professionals. Maybe especially finance professionals
