Career Switch @ 24

Hello,

I am 24yrs old and have recently started an MS finance program at a non target school to switch into a more finance focused career. I graduated college in 2017 with a 3.6 gpa with a science major. Since graduation, I have had the experience of helping build 2 businesses, one in the restaurant industry and one in the sanitation industry. I was there helping from the initial conversations of business ideas to the opening the restaurant and the buying the trash trucks. What I enjoyed most what the initial process of building out a strategy for growth. I’ve talked with a couple of IBs and my understanding is they primarily help companies figure out the next step to unlock value (Be it ipo or M&A).

Questions are 1. Am I too old to try and get in to IB? I am hoping my hands on business experience plus an MS would at least put something worthwhile on my resume. 2. Is this job description I’ve been told accurate? (Yes I know it’s long hours, lots of excel, etc)
