Case Study Interview for MM Sustainable Finance Group

Having a take home case study with absolutely no clue what to expect

The group works with M&A , DCM and Corporate Banking within the bank. Somewhat unconventional so I am wondering if anyone has the experience.

Would it be like rating the "ESG" for certain companies

Based on the context provided, it seems like your case study might involve aspects of M&A, DCM, and Corporate Banking, all within the lens of sustainable finance. While I can't provide a specific case study scenario, I can suggest some areas you might want to prepare for:

  1. M&A: You might be asked to evaluate the potential impact of a merger or acquisition on the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings of the involved companies. This could involve analyzing the companies' current ESG initiatives, potential synergies in their sustainability efforts, and how the merger or acquisition could improve or harm their ESG standing.

  2. DCM: In the context of Debt Capital Markets, you might be asked to structure a green or sustainable bond issuance. This could involve determining the use of proceeds towards sustainable projects, setting up the framework for reporting on the use of proceeds, and pricing the bond.

  3. Corporate Banking: You might be asked to evaluate a corporate client's sustainability strategy and how it could affect their credit risk. This could involve analyzing the client's ESG risks and opportunities, and how these could impact their financial performance and creditworthiness.

Remember, these are just potential areas of focus. The actual case study could involve different or additional elements. Good luck with your case study!
