CB Credit Analyst to ER/MBA?

So I'm pretty new to researching finance careers and I just recently found out that Credit Analysts at Commercial Banks are different than Credit Research Analysts (right?). So if my ultimate goal is Credit Research/Equity Research/something along those lines, how relevant would experience as a CB Credit Analyst be?

Also could CB Credit Analyst be good experience for getting into Top MBA later down the road? Thanks!
