CB SA to FT recruiting for IB

Greetings and salutations monkeys,

I am currently a junior finance student entering my spring semester at a non-target. I managed to secure an SA role at a large Canadian bank (think RBC/BMO/TD) in their Corporate Banking division in one of their top groups. However, my first and most desirable goal is to end up in IB for the long run. I do not plan on reneging on my offer but I am curious to hear others' opinions and thoughts on transitioning from CB-SA to a full-time IB analyst. Any advice about next steps would be greatly appreciated.
