chronic insomnia and investment banking.

i developed insomnia during my university days, during recruiting for ib. it started with never being able to sleep the night before interviews, and then generalised to every aspect of my life. since then, i've struggled with insomnia on a daily basis including during my 6 month investment banking internship, and it really impacted the quality of my work and ruined my health. also didn't get a return which i attribute to the sleep deprivation.

i'm starting another ib internship in a few months, and i feel like the only thing stopping me from doing well at it is potential sleep issues. i started CBT-i for my insomnia a couple months ago and i have seen a substantial improvement. i'm sleeping really well and normally 98% of nights, but obviously i'm not working 80 hours a week currently or feeling overly stressed about my life. i know my life will look very different when i'm back in banking, though.

just wondering if anyone who works in IB has successfully treated their insomnia with CBT-i? a big component of CBT-i is making sure you wind down properly before bed, exercising regularly, etc. which is obviously significantly harder to do in banking due to the hours, artificial office lighting, genuine lack of circadian rhythm or fully protected sleep routine.
