Does anyone have insights into CIBC IB in the US (Chicago, NYC, etc)? Is it on the same level as Nomura/Mizuho/RBC prestige-wise? What about culture + comps?

anyone know if their hr ever responds.......
From what i understand, the Chicago office doesn’t have an IB group and if they do, its very small. They had an opening in that office that i recruited for, however, moments before the call, i was told that recruiting would be put on hold until the office was more established (this was for SA). I followed up months after months but was never given any clear answer to the group’s trajectory in CHI. Odd situation.
Small U.S. presence, they sold their entire U.S. investment bank to Oppenheimer a little over 10 years ago.
Don't they still have an infra team in NYC and a mid market team in CHI?
Wouldn't group Nomura/Mizuho with RBC, and no CIBC isn't on par with these banks
