Citi GAM Group
I'm an ex 2nd year analyst in Citi's GAM group and holy shit was that experience awful. The higher ups are painfully arrogant and annoying. Actually, I take that back, not even higher ups, it really starts at associate. There's an associate there from Cornell(It's hard to forget because he likes to bring it up in every single conversation) who is completely unaware of how annoying he is. Think of that kid in high school who thought everyone liked him because people are trying to be nice, but as soon as he walks away people start bad mouthing him, yeah that's him. Then there's a VP who moved over from Goldman Sachs who's an arrogant douche just like you'd expect a guy from Goldman to be, so no surprises there. Not everyone in the group is bad, it's just that the annoying people's personalities are so strong that it's best to avoid this group like the plague. If you ever receive an offer from Citi, run from this group, like as far as possible. Or just lateral to a different group lol. But, you've been warned.
did u lateral or move to buyside
Any more opinion on the culture/ deal flow/ exits? Seems very specific to not like 2 ppl and judge the entire group.
I know the Cornell guy 😂😂😂😂
