Citi IBD groups: Picking right Group for Internship

Hello everyone,

I recently got an offer for Citi IB summer analyst NY

I wanted to know everybody's opinion on the best 3 groups to get into at Citi in terms of analyst experience, deal flow, prestige, and exit opportunities (all lumped in together). I know there are some threads out there that I have read through but just want a simple list of 3 groups based on the most up-to-date happenings at the firm. Hoping you all can help, to give a perspective I was thinking about:
Coverage
Industrials
TMT
Health
Power and Utilities

Product
M&A
Lev Finance

Thanks.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are the top three groups at Citi for an IB summer analyst in terms of analyst experience, deal flow, prestige, and exit opportunities:

  1. M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions)
  2. Energy and Power
  3. Industrials

These groups are highly regarded for their strong performance and excellent placement into private equity, particularly megafunds (MF).

Techs on fire. Industrials is historically good but not sure about recent dealflow/group dynamics. M&A is sweaty but solid. Consumer and HC are also good but prob regarded below Tech and Industrials for coverage. FIG is allegedly good but hard to say bc so specialized. Avoid CET unless you really like energy.

TLDR:
1) Tech / M&A
1)b. Industrials
2) Consumer / Healthcare / FIG

Industrials might be top tbh not sure
