Slightly off topic but… I applied for the analyst role and received an application update email stating “after initial review, they are interested in learning more and I’m one step closer to being considered”.

Never gotten anything like this from a job lol I’m assuming a recruiter just opened my application and it was an automated email. Did anyone else get this/is this a good thing?

I can’t speak for Citi/Toronto specifically on this one, but in my experience I’ve gotten about a dozen of emails like that when I was recruiting mentioning I’m being “further considered… hang tight etc.” and I’d say about 1/6 of them actually follow up with an interview.

It seems like a resume filter or a standard message, don’t put any eggs on emails like that.
