Citi's Performance — 2024 and Q1 2025

After seeing the latest rankings with Citi ranked 4th globally in 2024 and Q1 2025 for M&A Deal Value and fees, with Citi 2nd currently in EMEA for M&A deal value (dealogic) — surely Citi is the 4th best BB?

Curious since people have previously said BofA (or even Barc) is ahead of them, despite both of them clearly lagging behind Citi for 2+ years now.

I feel like Citi has always been around 4th. Just being reflected in league tables now and less disputed due to BofA falling off, wrapping up restructuring, and bringing in Vis. They have always had great bonuses, exits, and deal flow IMO.

Bringing in Vis has really helped their performance — has brought a lot of his JPM colleagues over with him.

Bora Bora RX, selling off parts of their lagging consumer business in small countries to free up resources for IBD has definitely contributed to the rise too.
