Classes You Wish You Took

I hear many people say things like I wish I took more classes in X. Mostly, people in finance say they wish they took more accounting courses.

Are there any classes people should take prior to graduation that would be useful in life (either for pure enjoyment or to help in a career)?

I was thinking of taking a real estate investment course, intro to computer science, and a course on organizational psychology before I graduate because I enjoy things like flipping properties and startups.

Still in school but won't be able to take a strategy class where you get to actually work to improve a real company. Others that I'd like to take include some economic history and general history courses. Foreign policy would be interesting as well.

Definitely! I've practically turned the history curriculum I'm on into my own personal economic/market history curriculum. I just wish I had more time for philosophy classes.

I'm sure it took some work to translate your general history curriculum into more of an economics education. I've had one history class and we barely covered markets side of our topic. Although we scratched the surface of economics in that course, exploring the economic environment of Rome - which was what I studied - in depth would have taken much more time than I had.

@pele14 That's funny because intro to management could have been called mastering corporate jargon because that's pretty much all we learned. Understanding different firm structures and management techniques was interesting but other than that I found little use for the class.

I kind of wish I did some Comp Sci. I took a class in HS and while it was really interesting, I was a senior and didn't really care so I didn't retain much and never really went back.

I'd also just recommend asking your friends which professors are the best and taking whatever they have to offer (though it may be an intro/low level class if it's something totally unrelated to your major). Alternatively, just flip through the course offerings and sit in on something that interests you. I wound up taking a class on pests and another on 18th century credit, and both were super interesting (for different reasons).

I wish I took more math courses in the University. B'cause finance, accounting and economics it's really easy and I think it's not that complicated to learn it by myself (I definitely know so, because all of the finance stuff I learned by myself). Why math classes? I really believe that this is the only class that requires thinking in its natural way.

P.S. All in all, I think that there is no corses you can not get to learn by yourself
