Cold-call/Email Firms not in your area?
How many of you cold-call/email firms that are not in your area and had let to somewhere?
Story - I have exhausted all firms in my city that's pretty small (in west coast). Initially, I wanted a summer internship here so I can work here but there's no firms left and they said they weren't hiring.
If I decide to call other firms in the East Coast - if they happen to turn into interviews, will they ask me to actually go over there in person? Thing I'm worried is that the cost of traveling for me for interviews will be significantly huge if I don't happen to secure down a summer internship offer....
Also, if the same office said they don't have postings in the West Coast, should I still contact them in the East Coast?
Any advice from you all is appreciated. Thanks!
