Community college transfer targeting MM IB — would love input

Background: Sophomore at a CC (SDCCD), 4.0 GPA, applying to transfer for Fall 2027 — aiming for UC Berkeley, with UCLA and other TAG UCs as backups. Funding school through gig delivery work ~20 hrs/week. Played prep hockey and lacrosse at an East Coast boarding school, so I'm used to grinding on a schedule — just translating that into finance now.

I'm building out a prep plan for the junior-summer MM IB recruiting cycle: modeling certs, a stock pitch, deal tracking, trying to start a finance club at my CC, and working the alumni network from hockey + CC.

Questions for anyone who's gone CC → UC → IB or is currently recruiting for MM:
1) What actually moved the needle for you in terms of getting looks from MM shops as a non-target/transfer?
2) Given where I'm at, what would you say are the best next steps to actually make progress?

If anyone's open to a quick chat about their path (happy to work around your schedule), I'd really appreciate it — feel free to comment or DM. Thanks in advance.
