comparable company scores
Friends,
My client (in "tech enabled business services" industry) is considering a particular target company to acquire. My job is to find out public comparable companies for the initial analysis and I have found about 14 comparable companies.
I used the following metrics for comparability -
1) Business similarity/compatibility (SIC codes)
2) Market Cap
3) Revenue
4) EBITDA
5) Beta
All companies including the client are US based.
What I am also doing is attaching a score based on how close the comp is to the target (for each of the metrics above) and then trying to plot it using excel charts to graphically represent it.
I have the following questions -
1) Are there any other metrics that I should be using ?
2) Are there any templates to make my work more effective and easy?
Thanks,
Vicks
Interesting Ive never seen anyone acrsibe a weighted ranking based on relative similarity...i would just select 8-10 comps and do mean, median, max, min
you should do ROE, debt/equity etc.
you should build your own comp set template so that you have one moving forward
