Configure Partners, Restructuring & M&A

Anyone have experience with Configure Partners? Like Ducera spun out of PWP not long ago, these guys spun out of Guggenheim two years ago and have been pretty active in restructuring (specializing in a nice blend of lender and debtor mandates, mostly middle market and upper middle market deals). I hear Assoc 1 comp is around market (300K all in) but heavily skewed towards EOY bonus.

Everyone is extremely welcoming and polite, which allows for the shop to have an exceptional culture. To my understanding, the seniors were very respectful of the juniors' time. With the shop being so new, the culture is very entrepreneurial and possesses a 'were all in this together" type mindset. Comp and deal flow were good. When I interned, there were a few live engagements and all of the seniors had a healthy pipeline of new deals to come. This is a great shop to get in early at. If you're looking for banking long-term, they will offer you a very specialized and tactical skill set. Honestly, Configure checks all the boxes.

The team is great and the exposure is top notch - I could not recommend a better group in the Southeast. The firm has lean deal teams, which provides for awesome opportunities to grow quickly.

Clients: creditor and debtor client representation

FA Role: Sell-side M&A, Leveraged Finance, Creditor Committee Advisory

Exit Opps: MM value and special situations funds (e.g., Comvest)

Industries: Everything except fast-growing tech

Play the long game - give back, help out, mentor - just don't ever forget where you came from. #Bootstrapped
