Consulting firms considering raising base pay - is IB next?
I have been hearing that some consulting firms are considering (or already are, like McKinsey) raising junior level base comp. From what I am reading, this has the potential to cause a domino effect and raise salaries across the board for the industry.
I understand this is all pretty early-stage, but do people think this news has the potential to affect IB junior salaries at some point (say, within the next year) to remain competitive on paper with these consulting positions? Or has anyone heard of any preliminary discussions regarding this at their bank?
