Consulting vs Banking Potential Offer

Hello,

I have recently been given an offer to IBM's consulting Business Transformation practice for this upcoming summer. I was also recruiting for IB and one of the banks (well known international bank) has told me they filled the spot they have but are attempting to open a new one for me. They said that in any other year I would have gotten the summer IB offer and really liked me, the person I have spoken with is also looking at their openings in other cities for me.

The deadline for the consulting offer is January 3rd and has already been extended for me.

My dilemma, if the IB offer ends up happening, is which one to choose. Currently, I am learning 60/40 towards doing consulting after graduation but am also interested in IB. Right now, my rationale is it is easier to get a FT consulting offer than a FT IB offer if I have not done a summer position so I would take IB and then switch to consulting if I did not like it. However, a con is that it would be good for consulting recruitment to have an internship doing consulting.

What do you guys think and what would you do in this situation?
