Consumer vs TMT vs infrastructure and energy group

I have some questions related to the choice of sector teams:

1) I wanted to know what exactly is different about working on deals in such different industries with different dynamics (ie TMT vs infra) , i have heard that valuation methods are different , but arent the fundamentals valuation methods very similar? - comps and dcf

2) If i have never worked on deals in these sectors , what is a better way to decide which sector to go for as a junior?
