Contacting HR about signing bonuses

Hey I need some advice about contacting HR about signing bonuses. I am starting in the IBD at a BB in NYC, we will be receiving a signing bonus but they only gave us a time range. I am kind of broke and won't be able to afford to move to NYC without it. When is it, or is it appropriate to ask when I will get it?

haven't you discussed relocation expenses with your recruiter before signing??? if it's a bb you should've asked for it. if you have a contact inside the bank you should ask him for advice - he should know the inner workings better and if not he could ask around for you.
