Conversion rate - MS IBD OC LDN
Hi all,
what is the conversion rate for the IBD off-cycle internship at Morgan Stanley's London office? Does it the internship intake make a difference (Jan vs. Aug)?
On another note, what's the process like for getting allocated to a team, is it just the preference set in the application form or is there coffee chats/networking calls? If the latter, would it be in-person or virtual?
Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, the conversion rate for Morgan Stanley's IBD off-cycle internships in London is not explicitly detailed in the dataset. However, off-cycle internships generally have a lower conversion rate compared to summer internships, as they often depend on immediate team needs and headcount availability. For example, some banks like Credit Suisse have reported conversion rates as low as 15-25% for similar programs.
Regarding the intake period (January vs. August), there is no specific mention of whether one has a higher conversion rate than the other. However, timing could influence opportunities based on market conditions and team requirements during that period.
As for team allocation, the process typically involves a combination of preferences set during the application and networking efforts. Coffee chats or networking calls are common, and these can be either in-person or virtual, depending on the circumstances and the bank's policies at the time. Engaging with team members through these interactions can significantly impact your placement and overall experience.

is ac out?
Heard some offers are out already, but ACs are still ongoing
Read that the conversion for OC's is significantly higher than summers, also depends on your background, harder for Brits to convert
What you mean harder for Brits to convert? As in it's easier for internationals to convert?
Someone commented on a thread the other day saying the vast majority (90%~) of British off cycles will not receive an RO, whilst approx. 50% of Euros will - which, if true, is absolutely insane lmao.
