Corporate Auditing

What exactly does corporate auditing entail? What knowledge is needed (accounting, valuation etc.)? Will this help get S&T next summer, hopefully at a BB?

I have received an offer to spend my freshman summer in Hong Kong on the corporate auditing team. My aim for this summer is just to find an internship that will teach me the ropes of financial modeling and valuation because I don't want to wait until my junior year for Ross to teach me.

I highly doubt you'll learn the skills you're looking for in Corporate Audit. That being said, as a Freshman it's good to have any business experience.

Corporate Audit can take different roles, but I'd guess you'll be doing some combination of financial, controls and operational auditing. It will likely be boring for the most part(you will probably have to check a random sample of 25 journal entries to make sure they're signed), but you will probably learn something.

This. I've been in audit, cracked a laugh at the journal entries.

Thanks for your help!

Do you think it will help me get an interview for IB/S&T at a BB next summer?

That's all I'm really interested in and since I was unable to find something of that sort this summer, I want to leverage this summer for IB/S&T next summer.
