This is for the tech groups at the Associate level.

Cowen - IT and Information Services - software, fintech, etc. They are building up the group which is currently ~10 people. Nomura - TMT. They are also building up the TMT group with recent hires in fintech and software. Jefferies - Tech - Phil Berkowitz team who worked with Frank Quattrone. Definitely the most prestigious of the 3 but I imagine brutal lifestyle.

By far the most prestigious. By far the best dealflow regardless of group. Cowen's best group is HC which JEF HC blows out of the water. Nomura's best group is LevFin which JEF also blows out of the water. Also bonuses at JEF are 100% cash. Beware of clawbacks however if you are associate or above. Like I said this isn't really even a conversation. JEF is borderline a BB for many of its groups.

I've had a lot of interactions with Cowen and interned at Jefferies. If your priority is culture, Cowen is the winner without question. If your priority is exit opps, Jefferies is the best shop out of the three, but agree with above that Healthcare and LevFin are their best groups. Tech is alright. I didn't find Jefferies that toxic, but I was only an intern there. Try to get an offer in Cowen Healthcare - then it would be a more even comparison.

Can you expand on culture?
