Cowen Vs. Stifel - Senior Associate Lateral
Curious if anyone has any insight on Cowen Vs. Stifel in NYC? Culture, long-term career, lifestyle, etc?
Currently a Senior Associate M&A Generalist at a fairly small boutique and just got an interview with both banks in NYC, transferring into coverage group (Both Industrials and Tech Services) as a lateral.

Curious to know which did you end up choosing?
I realize it's probably too late, but I would have chosen based on that group's deal flow and deal mix (e.g. does it lean heavy M&A)? Cowen has a better culture and seems to be gaining momentum, but Stifel pays street I think, so there may be a modest, but meaningful, comp differential.
Looks like Cowen is paying at/above street now with analysts at 100K Y1 and associates at 175K Y1. That firm has ripped recently honestly. I heard bonuses for 2020 were off the wall and way above street, at least at the associate level.
There was a rumored 600K all in for an associate last year as per the bonus 2020 thread. Poster did say they were at a HC MM firm.
Do you know what A2 got bumped to?
I knew somebody at Stifel tech. He recently left and I think there's been a lot of junior turnover there. Heard pay was bad but pretty good culture and work life balance.
