Credit / Debt score - Background Checks & Eligibility

Hi there,

My brother is looking into getting into the wealth management/IB sector, and recently we applied an education loan to finance the remainder of my studies (about 27k). He is a co-signer or joint applicant for me, and I am wondering if this will affect his chances of getting into the sector because his debt score is no longer zero (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Before I kickstart on the disbursements, I would like to know how he would be affected, and I would rather take a break from my studies to work for a year to finance my studies, than affect his eligibility. We are based in Southeast Asia, so I am not sure about the degree of rigor at which they conduct the checks. Any advice would be great, and apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum (and please direct me to right one, thank you!).
