CVP Invite Only Event London

I am at a London target and have heard that there is a CVP invite only event which lets you apply for their summer. How does one get into this (which may seem like a redundant question). I have internship experience and a first class average but have no clue what I specifically need to do to get headhunted. Does anyone (especially UK/target unis) know how this process works?

How to Get Invited:

  1. Target School:
You said you're at a London target uni — that’s already half the battle. CVP focuses almost exclusively on students from top UK schools (LSE, Oxbridge, Imperial, KCL, UCL, Warwick, etc.).
  2. First-Class Degree (or on track):
You’ve got that — solid. Most invitees have a first or are expected to get one.
  3. Internship Experience:
Also ticks a box. Even if it’s not IB, relevant experience (like asset mgmt, consulting, Big 4, etc.) shows you’re serious.
  4. Networking:
This is the invisible key. Many invites come through:
    • Professors or alumni connections flagging standout students.
    • Career services nominating candidates.
    • Attending other elite events (like Insight Days, Lunch & Learns, 1:1s with bankers).
  5. Proactive Outreach:
If no one’s reaching out, reach out yourself. Contact Campbell Vernier directly via their website or LinkedIn and express interest. Sometimes just being proactive gets you noticed.
  6. Ask Your Careers Service:
Seriously — go talk to them. They often get the invite list early and can recommend students.

TL;DR Action Steps:

  • 🔹 Talk to your uni careers office — ASK if they nominate students for CVP.
  • 🔹 Email Campbell Vernier directly and ask about eligibility.
  • 🔹 Attend as many bank info sessions, networking events, and coffee chats as possible — visibility matters.
  • 🔹 Keep building your network — sometimes it’s not what you know, it’s who knows you.

Final note:
It’s weirdly opaque, but if you’re at a target school with strong grades and some experience, you’re already in the ballpark. Don’t wait to be chosen — go chase it.

Good luck! 👊

Sorry, this may seem like a really dumb question but who or what is campbell vernier? I can only seem to find a sextant when I look it up online and can't find any results on LinkedIn. Thanks so much for the help!!!

This is chat-gpt nonsense, please MS accordingly.

False information, professors do not refer you for this event… it’s done via LinkedIn headhunting from Dartmouth associates

Most people at the event didn't get headhunted and just applied through Dartmouth's link. Dartmouth "headhunts" a bunch of people for this event and ghosts anyway, wouldn't hedge my bets on them. Personal anecdote is that I ended up interviewing after the event and the brainteasers are pretty wild
