Damn I'm screwed - 2 very different opportunities: Help!

Hi All,

I'm inbetween a rock and a hard place and looking to get some perspective on this. I have 2 full time offers to either join MS M&A HK or JPM TMT or FIG NY. I have summered with JPM a few times and signed a contract with them to join them in July 08 however I recently also did an internship with MS M&A in HK and ended up getting an offer there too. My problem is basically choosing between NY and HK and the 2 bank's groups.

From my understanding, deal flow sux in NY but it is pretty strong in HK. What I'm worried about with HK though is that the work is not as technically intensive as it is in NY (eg analysts are on models less of the time and I don't think there are a ton of associates that are that good in HK to teach you). I'm also worried about exit options and MBA, eg recruiting back to NY PE is harder from Asia but I think having Asian experience differentiates you come B-school time. I am still a sucker for having that 'NY experience' but not sure if I can give up the MS offer. Also, I'm worried some JPM senior folks will be ticked off that I am reneging.

I was thinking of trying to do a 3rd year analyst transfer from one of the offices to the other sometime down the track. Is this done often?

Really keen to hear your thoughts! Appreciate it.
