Dartmouth vs. Duke
Hi all,
I am a rising high school senior, and I am interested to know what this community's consensus is on Dartmouth vs. Duke for Bulge Bracket recruiting at the undergraduate level.
I understand that Dartmouth has historically been a wall street funnel and is known for its incredible alumni network. However, I noticed that on WSO's Investment Banking University report, Duke is now considered to be a top target school for Bulge Bracket firms, while Dartmouth has declined and is instead now a target for Boutique Banks. Similarly, I have seen that Dartmouth has been slipping on many college ranking lists while Duke has been on the rise and has surpassed Dartmouth.
Is Dartmouth truly less prestigious/less attractive to the top banks, or are these statistics distorted by small sample sizes, the size of the schools (Duke having a larger Undergrad size than Dartmouth), or other such factors?
Thanks for any responses.
I would recommend getting in to them first, then deciding from there.
Dartmouth grad here.
Go to Dartmouth.
But in all seriousness if you're choosing your college based on your investment banking opportunities, you're doing it completely wrong. Either school will provide you with ample opportunities to achieve your career goals no doubt - but I can indeed attest to the strong and tight-knit Dartmouth alumni network.
