Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's a breakdown to help you decide between Deutsche Bank (DB) and PSC Tech (DBO) for a summer analyst role in SF, considering exit opportunities and prestige:
Deutsche Bank (DB):
PSC Tech (DBO):
Key Considerations:
Recommendation:
If prestige and broader exit opportunities are your top priorities, DB might be the safer choice. However, if PSC Tech (DBO) has strong tech deal flow and you value a potentially more intimate work environment, it could be worth considering. Ultimately, weigh the specific group dynamics and your long-term career goals.
For tech, DBO is a no brainer. Don’t think I have seen DB on any tech mandates. Exits are probably pretty similar on average but west coast and tech PE recruiting will be easier coming from DBO given better deal flow and smaller classes. DB will have more layman prestige so you’ll likely have an easier time if you’re recruiting outside of tech/into another industry.
Outside of tech/DBO, DB >> Piper.
