DBO Partners in 2021? Thoughts?
Recently chatted an analyst at DBO and became interested in learning more. It looks like they’re a fairly lean operation with solid transaction experience. Thoughts?

EB-level comp, very solid deal flow, great people and super collegial culture, exit opps are solid but depend on whether the seniors like you and will go to bat, but absolutely horrid hours.
Partners are ex-Morgan Stanley FSG rainmakers. Very sharp team with solid deal flow, mostly in technology with a lot of sponsor-related activity. They are expanding their analyst class slightly. If you recruit with them for FT, be prepared to have an LBO model test. They focus heavily on fit as well. Hours are terrible, but exits are great. You can get any interview you want on the West Coast if the partners go to bat for you.
Eching what everyone said above, solid team within technology and sponsor related deals. Very lean team and analysts are given a lot of responsibility and learn a lot. Culture felt like an emphasis and everyone I spoke with was great.
