mergermarket, pitchbook, capitalIQ and prequin are some good places to start searching.
Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or Thomson? Maybe your school library has them? Free resources are hit or miss. You have to pay to play.
If the acquirer is public you will see it in SEC filings.
