MM IBD. Is this an internship or full-time? Pub Fin has very little transferable skills esp if you want to move back to Europe.
what if the pub fin is at a top BB (GS/MS)? How would that look for junior summer analyst recruiting compared to something like betaa mentioned such as MHT?
MHT IBD or GS/MS PubFin for soph internship would set you up very well for a BB IBD job your junior summer year assuming you go to a target with OCR.
Gs/ms pub fin all the way. 1. Let's be honest, unless you're some ridic stud, you're not going to be much ahead compared to other interns just because you had MM IB sophomore year. 2. GS/MS brand name. Deny it all you want, but most bankers are definitely prestige whores. Having a FO top BB internship will do a lot for you come junior year. 3. Internal lateral. I've definitely heard of/know kids who did non-IBD FO work at BB's then returned as IBD summers their junior year.
Take the bb. I couldn't land interviews with two mm ib and S&t internships that I complete last summer alone. Not to mention the other 3 ib , vc, and S&t internships. Name brand matters dude. Not target here though as well and even when I went through interviews I had bankers ask me questions like "what is bahrd?" Lol didn't know what Baird was
