Career Resources
If you still aren't prepped you likely don't have what it takes to break in. Go for something else, not everyone is meant to break in.
True you are right. I have just been networking quite heavily now I’m really trying to put my head down and do a modelling course.400 questions I have a decent understanding but my excel skillls are close to none and I’ve heard I might have modelling tests
This motivational thank you been so anxious been interfering with my prep you’re right doesn’t matter if I get an interview if I can’t convert. Been feeling inferior cause of my expirience
Bro it is NOT that deep there are so many interesting careers out there that you’ll be much happier working in than IB
everyone thinks 400 questions is everything. its actual bullshit. you only need to know the basic understanding of the 3 financial statements, a DCF, diff valuation methods, and you're mostly done.
apart from that, i would say you are definitely going to have a hard time since you are wayyyy too late to networking.
I have been networking that’s where my efforts have really shined, got quite a few seniors pulling for me so you think accounting, financial modelling and dcf should suffice and then learning the rest of the stuff from the guides
yeah i think it should suffice. maybe for fun, make yourself read the op ed section or even merger reports every day for the behavioral-technical questions but apart from that, you should be fine. they might ask some questions about LBOs so know that as well.
If you are actually homeless without a full time job, you should have a 4.0 and multiple jobs lined up by now. I can't image a more powerful and terrifying incentive
