Deutsche Bank Hiring Freeze

So this just came up today: "Deutsche Bank AG is implementing a companywide hiring freeze."

Frustrating for me as I just landed a superday with them in the New York office. --Am I screwed?

Honestly hating everything in life rn

I didn't say reach out with "Hey, heard your bank was crashing. Am I still good to go?"

If you're not going to be patient to let them e-mail you (they would if they cancelled their super day), then I would still rather hear it from them than someone who is perhaps misinformed. It could be as simple as confirming the date with them - if they confirm, it's obviously still on, right?

All I am saying is that I wouldn't trust internet forums, because you're going to get a lot of high schoolers thinking they are on the same level as a BB MD, and I wouldn't even trust media reports completely because they don't always tell the whole story (e.g., maybe they just aren't adding jobs at this point, but they are still replacing employees [after all, IB is fairly high turnover]).

Barclays, CS, MS, and now DB are technically all on hiring freezes. It just means they won't take anyone off cycle, but will still recruit. Focus on your interviews.

This. Banks need to keep relationships at their core schools for recruiting and almost always annual analyst/mba associate recruiting is exempt from these freezes. They may (and likely will) reduce the number of offers, but won't cancel recruiting altogether unless things get very ugly. Banks kept their recruiting going during the Great Recession for these reasons.
