Deutsche Bank Mock Interview

I've got a mock interview for Deutsche Bank later this week that is conflicting with something else that I want to do. I am considering skipping it only if it is purely a mock interview, however I don't see why that would be the case. I can't imagine why a bank would conduct mock interviews solely out of their own generosity. So do people think that this is actually just a way to look for internship candidates earlier than everyone else and therefore I should just go to it?

I also would have to say that it is to some degree used in the decision making process. I know when I had mock interviews with a firm for a SA position, the person who ran the mock was an analyst at the office (alum of the school) and was involved in whose resumes were selected for first round interviews. I did terribly on the technical questions, solely because it was the first interview I had ever had in college. But I was able to get across my general level of intelligence, and I learned all of the technical questions by the time the actual interview rolled along, which will really help you if you can show that you went back and learned what you didnt know earlier.

I think blowing off the mock will eliminate you from consideration for the actual first round on campus, especially if the mock is being conducted by someone from the office to which you would be applying.
